 STATE GOVERNMENT GRANTS

The Victorian Government is committed to working with and supporting local communities to commemorate the centenary of the First World War (2014 – 2018) and to create a lasting legacy for future generations.

There are a range of Victorian Government grants to support your Anzac Centenary project. For more information on which Grant is most applicable to your project, refer to the Victorian Veterans’ Grants overview. If you are a member of a Victorian Cemetery Trust, a dedicated grant program is available from the Department of Health.

Victoria Remembers Grants Program  (previously Anzac Centenary Major Grants Program)

The Victorian Government, through the Veterans Branch, Department of Premier and Cabinet, has established the Victoria Remembers Grant Program, which builds on the successful Anzac Centenary Major Grants Program, to help communities make personal connections with the Centenary of World War I, and assist projects or activities that commemorate other wars, conflicts and peacekeeping operations in which Victorians have served.

Restoring Community War Memorials and Avenues of Honour Grants

Victorian communities keen to renew or repair their local war memorials can now apply for funding from the Restoring Community War Memorials and Avenues of Honour grants program. This program has been expanded to take in Avenues of Honour to enable Victorian towns and cities to prepare for the Anzac Centenary. In addition, the ceiling for these grants has been raised to $30,000 to ensure that Victorian memorials and honour boards – in main streets, service clubs, schools, town halls or wherever they are to be found – are in good order as Victoria marks the centenary of the First World War.
