Maryborough

Trent Mayne shares the story of his great-uncle William Gourley.

William Gourley, born in Maryborough, Victoria, left Australian shores on the Orvieto to serve in World War One. He served in France until 1918.

Trent describes his great-uncle as a bit of a rogue, who rejoined after the Gallipoli landing to be with his mates in France.

He is buried at Timor Cemetery near Maryborough. He never married.
